Gordon has been riding a bike since he was pushed out of his pram at the age of 2. He quickly developed a love for cycling, challenging the kids in his neighbourhood to races. At 7 he took to a velodrome on a track bike for the first time, and by the age of 11 he was racing every week.

A journalist, author and copy editor, Gordon can draw on 33 years of cycle racing experience on the road, track and off-road trails. Passionate about the sport, he has three Australian championship medals to his name and has raced on some of the world’s most famous tracks, including former Olympic venue Herne Hill in London, the Manchester Velodrome, Adelaide Superdrome and Launceston Silverdome.

A former Cycle Sport, Cycling Weekly and Mountain Bike Rider copy editor and contributor, he has a good knowledge of all aspects of the sport – from the latest technology to hip trends.

Gordon has written reports on the latest Japanese e-bicycles, the craze for fixed-gear bicycles in Tokyo and high-stakes gambling on professional “keirin” cyclists, and has developed an extensive range of contacts including electronic bicycle makers, artisan frame-makers, keirin racers and the hippest kids in the fixed gear scene.
